Active Matter on PS5: Editions and Online Requirements
Find Active Matter on PS5, compare editions and understand online play, PS Plus and Premium cloud streaming. See which platform claims remain unverified.
Active Matter has a PS5 version; the US store lists online play as required, DualSense vibration, PS5 Pro Enhanced and a September 15, 2026 release. Its Premium requirement is specifically for PS5/PS Portal cloud streaming. The game's exact ordinary-console PS Plus requirement was not independently confirmed.
The PS5 version and official store
Active Matter is available on PlayStation 5. The PlayStation US product page lists a September 15, 2026 release, required online play and a PS5 Pro Enhanced label.
The listing also shows DualSense vibration and a 16-online-player capability label. These labels do not establish a measured frame rate, resolution or the number of players in every individual game mode. This site has not performed a PS5 or PS5 Pro performance test.
Editions and prices
The US store displayed Standard at $29.99, Advanced at $49.99 and Deluxe at $99.99 on September 28, 2026. Store region, taxes and later promotions may change what you pay.
The official FAQ says the editions share playable content and differ in starting equipment/resources. Use the price and edition comparison for the observed allowances, then check the exact store offer before buying.
Online play, PS Plus and cloud streaming
Three separate requirements should not be confused:
- Internet and account: the product page says online play is required, and online features require an account for PlayStation.
- Ordinary online multiplayer: PlayStation’s general membership FAQ says the majority of purchased games need PS Plus for online play. Online multiplayer is a benefit of Essential, Extra and Premium. The checked Active Matter listing did not explicitly identify its game-specific ordinary PS Plus entitlement, so that detail remains unconfirmed here.
- Cloud streaming: the product page’s Premium wording applies specifically to cloud streaming on PS5 and PS Portal. It is not evidence that Premium is mandatory to play an installed copy on your console.
Consult the current product page and the official PS Plus membership information for the account and service you intend to use. This page does not guarantee a particular account’s access.
Playing with friends on other platforms
The official game FAQ describes matchmaking with your own platform, consoles, or any platform. Read the crossplay options and coordinate the intended matching choice with your group.
Crossplay does not establish that purchases or saved progress transfer between PS5 and PC. The FAQ’s specific PC/console progress answer is restrictive, and no account-transfer test is claimed here.
What about PS5 reviews?
The store contains player ratings, but those ratings are not a substitute for a platform-specific performance review. A PC review is not a PS5 test either. We do not publish a PS5 verdict or a performance score without sufficient evidence.
To understand the design before buying, compare game modes and PvE options, while keeping those mechanics descriptions separate from performance claims.
