Active Matter Release Date: Steam, PS5 and Xbox

Check the Active Matter release dates for Steam, PS5 and Xbox. Understand how the September 2026 launch differs from the earlier Gaijin PC release in 2025.

The short answer

The Steam, Xbox and PlayStation launch was September 15, 2026. Gaijin's publisher page separately dates the early PC version to September 9, 2025. These are different release stages; the later store launch should not erase the earlier PC release.

Why more than one release date appears

Active Matter’s Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S release was September 15, 2026. The publisher separately records the earlier PC version as September 9, 2025. These dates describe different release stages.

Release stage Date How to interpret it
Earlier Gaijin PC version September 9, 2025 The publisher’s earlier PC launch entry
Steam release September 15, 2026 The date shown for the Steam game
PlayStation 5 release September 15, 2026 Included in the official release announcement
Xbox Series X|S release September 15, 2026 Included in the same release announcement

The publisher’s game page supplies the two-stage history. The official September 15 announcement confirms availability on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the Gaijin Store.

Do not confuse a trailer date with a launch date

Trailers, closed tests, free demos and early PC access can all precede a platform’s release. A video uploaded on a particular day is not, by itself, evidence that the game launched that day.

Some historical search results and regional store displays show different dates. The table uses the publisher’s platform-release statement; it is not a claim that every region unlocked the game at the same local clock time. No complete region-by-region unlock schedule is established here.

Common questions

Is Active Matter still waiting for its Steam release?

No. The official announcement and Steam listing record a September 15, 2026 release. Older previews discussing an upcoming launch should be read in their original time context.

Did the earlier PC release also mean it was on consoles?

No. The publisher separates the earlier PC release from the later Steam and console launch. Do not use the 2025 date as the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S release date.
